Our Journey So Far

After a successful pilot program in 2011, the Greenpower USA Foundation was incorporated in October 2014 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Huntsville, Alabama. We operate under a license agreement with Greenpower Education Trust, solidifying our position as the exclusive licensee of the renowned Greenpower Education Trust program in the United States.

The Greenpower Electric Car Challenge

The Greenpower Electric Car Challenge, established in 1999 in the United Kingdom by the Greenpower Education Trust, aims to enhance the teaching and learning of STEM through an exciting design-build-race competition. This highly engaging and inspirational challenge emphasizes sustainable, multi-disciplinary, and cross-curricular applied learning. With categories spanning the entire educational spectrum, the Greenpower Challenge caters to diverse interests and abilities.

Participating in the Greenpower Electric Car Challenge

Greenpower Education Trust equips teams with car-building kits, enabling them to construct electric race cars in schools, colleges, or other educational settings. These cars are then raced at Greenpower-organized events. Alternatively, teams have the freedom to design and build their own cars from scratch while adhering to Greenpower Education Trust's technical and sporting regulations. In the UK, Greenpower Education Trust collaborates with over 700 teams, organizing more than 35 regional races, including an annual international final. This prestigious event attracts over 10,000 students, ranging from elementary to university level, who compete annually in Greenpower Education Trust events.

A Global Reach

Greenpower Education Trust has extended its reach worldwide, allowing licensees to establish Greenpower programs across the globe. Currently, Greenpower Education Trust has active licensees in China, India, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, and the United States.
